Student's Corner: A Hundred Days of Qigong
A place for Questions, Comments, or Feedback February 2009
Question:
I just started learning Qigong
from you. How long do I have to do it before I see some real benefits?
Answer:
Welcome on board! As we often tell our students, it’s not so much how long
you do it in one setting, but rather whether you stick to it everyday. It
would be nice if we can “bank” a big lump sum of Qi with one long session,
and then simply draw on the dividends for a while. Unfortunately, it
doesn’t work that way. To maintain high level of Qi, you need to
“generate” it everyday. So maintaining health and wellness is very much
like swimming upstream – if you are not peddling forward, you will go
backward. So it would be much better if you could invest just 5-10 minutes
EVERYDAY, then slowly but surely, you will see the interests compounded
throughout our life! So on
this Valentine’s Day, we would like to challenge you all to start practice
for 100 days continuously. If
you stop for one day, start counting from day 1 again. We know a few
students in our class have been keeping daily practice – let’s join them!
What do you want to do now?
