Student's Corner: Which Qigong Form Should I Practice?

A place for Questions, Comments, or Feedback February 2009

Question:
We have studied quite a few Qigong forms and I cannot remember most of them. Why do we have to learn all these different forms? Can we just stick to one?

Answer:
Yes you can – pick your favorite one. You should do that one everyday (for at least 100 days)! There are a few reasons why we teach different forms: 1) different students like different forms – the variety enables you to choose one that really resonates with you; 2) different forms, just like different music pieces, train your body and mind with different emphasis; 3) the curriculum is also designed to be progressive in terms of content and difficulty and 4) some forms corresponds to seasonal changes.

So, take our advice: do not worry about remembering them all! Take what you like and treat each experience as artistic work – every time it’s a fresh creation by you in that particular time and space!
