Ms. Robin D. Carnes is one of TCCII’s associate instructors of Qigong. With a keen interest in body/mind healing modalities, she has studied Yoga since 1996 and began practicing Qi Gong daily in 2008 when she started her training at TCCII. Ms. Carnes now serves as the yoga and meditation (and unofficially, Qi Gong) instructor for the Specialized Care Program, a multi-disciplinary PTSD treatment program funded by DOD, since 2006 and served as the lead instructor in the DOD feasibility study of iRest meditation for PTSD symptoms.
While working as an organizational development consultant and trainer for large and mid-sized companies Ms. Carnes decided to take just three months off in 1996 to take a deep breath. She never looked back. After co-authoring Sacred Circles: A Guide to Creating Your Own Women’s Spirituality Group (Harper SF, 1998), she went on to be certified in iRest yoga nidra meditation, as well as becoming a certified yoga teacher (RYT-500). She has taught nationally and internationally for the past 14 years, including co-leading an annual women’s yoga and creativity retreat in Central America since 2005 www.bestwomensretreats.net.
Ms. Carnes has studied at Harvard Divinity School and at Boston College Graduate School of Social Work. She earned her Bachelor Degree with highest honors in English at Keene State College in 1983 and her Master in Business Administration in 1988 from Boston College Graduate School of Management.
