Baguazhang
Ba Gua Zhang (Pa Kua Chang) is an internal system of kung fu introduced by Dong Hai Chuan (Tung Hai Chuan) in the early 19th century. He combined Shaolin martial arts with Taoist Ba Gua ritual walking, internal alchemy, and Yi Jing philosophy to create the art we now know as Baguazhang.
Ba Gua Zhang is part of our Internal Kung Fu Curriculum and, along with Tai Chi Chuan and Xingyi Quan is considered on of the three "Sister Arts" of Internal Kung Fu.
The Celestial Circle Dragon Bagua we teach comes from Wang Shu Shin (Wang Shu Jin). The curriculum
includes circle walking, post standing, Eight Palms, Eight Changes, Eight Animals and 64
Combinations. Additional training
includes the linear forms, Nine Palaces, Iron Ruler Ring, Crescent blades
(sun and moon weapons), applications, san shou,
and joint hands.
