This course is part of the Applied Qigong for Holistic Healing Certification Program and the Qigong and Tai Chi Certification program.

Purpose

This introductory course to medical Qigong is designed to introduce the basic concepts and principles of energy healing. You will learn how to read and interpret energy patterns and detect imbalances. Through hands-on practice, you will learn to do Qi adjustments based on TCM principles. In addition to energy healing, discussions will extend to mind-body imagery and intentional healing, healing beyond the body with the higher consciousness to help restore spiritual alignment.

Course Objectives: upon completion, the participant will be able to

1. Describe basic concepts of Medical Qigong
2. Demonstrate the energy refining exercises
3. Demonstrate how to detect Qi fluctuation or sensations
4. Explain guided meditation for self-healing
5. Demonstrate how to collect and project Qi from hands
6. Demonstrate how to use basic Qi adjustment techniques
7. Describe how to use intention and imagery for healing
8. Discuss the importance of integrating Qi (Energy) with Yi (Intention) and Shen (Spirit) in Healing
9. Discuss how to use medical Qigong for holistic healing practice

The following criteria will be used to determine successful completion of this educational activity:

1. In a group setting, demonstrate beginning skill level with energy refining exercises, Qi adjustment techniques, and how to use movement, breathing, and intention to collect and project Qi from hands.
2. Participation in group discussion of the basic concepts and principles of Medical Qigong, major Qi sensations, the importance of integrating Qi (Energy) with Yi (Intention) and Shen (Spirit) in healing, and how to draw healing energy from nature and use guided imagery and intention for self-healing.
3. Participation in discussion of the application of the use of medical Qigong for holistic healing practice
4. Completion of a Personal Learning Note and Course Evaluation Form

Successful completion of this course will result in the awarding of 6 contact hours (6 CNE credits for nurses)
