This course is part of the Applied Qigong for Holistic Healing Certification Program, a 36 hour professional development program designed for those who wish to learn the healing and cultivation methods of traditional Chinese Qigong.

Purpose

The purpose of this workshop is to learn traditional Chinese healing practices that will help Harmonize the Yin and Yang energy in the body. We will introduce Chinese philosophy of ONENESS: nature is not just a “backdrop environment” that needs our protection – it is ONE with us through the Tao. Participants will experience meditations and practices to connect with the sun, moon, animals, and healing energy in our environment and discuss how to share them with holistic nurses, patients, and the wider community.

Course Objectives: upon completion, the participant will be able to

1. Outline the basic concept of ancient Chinese philosophy of “People and Nature as One” and “Harmonizing Yin and Yang” principles

2. Demonstrate the movements of the Five Animal Frolics

3. Discuss the use of the natural energy sources of the Sun and Moon to revitalize, replenish, and balance the energy in the body

4. Describe application of the three treasures of nature: water, wind, and light to cleanse and heal the body

5. Demonstrate selective self-healing techniques, to Harmonize Yin and Yang

6. Discuss how the principle of “Balancing Yin and Yang” can be brought to the wider holistic nursing community and beyond.

Download the Harmonizing Yin and Yang course brochure for description of course objectives and evaluation criteria.

Successful completion of this course will result in the awarding of a Certificate of Completion for 6 contact hours.
