Wudang Tai Chi Chuan
According to Wudang's legend, Zhang San Feng created an internal Yang Sheng (Life Nourishing) art based upon the concepts of Yin and Yang called Taiji 13 postures. It is noteworthy that this Yang Sheng art was a form of Qigong, not the martial art we know today as Tai Chi Chi Chuan. Some current historical research suggests that General Chen Wanting learned this Yang Sheng art from a Taoist priest of the Taiji Men (Taiji Gate) sect, who was related to his wife's family (surname Li). He combined the Taiji art with his family Cannon Fist art, Tong Bei, and Ming Military methods to create the first style of Tai Chi Chuan (Taijiquan.) In recent times, Wudang further combined the Taiji 13 postures with Chen and Yang Tai Chi to create the modern Wudang Tai Chi forms.
Wudang Internal arts not only include Tai Chi, but other forms of Internal Kung Fu, Qigong, and Alchemy. They form part of our Qigong, and Internal Kung Fu Curriculums.
