Meet our Founders
Shifu Shawn Cartwright and Dr. Yinong Chong
TCCII was founded to build a bridge between traditional Chinese culture and the modern world. Combining decades of experience in the Internal Arts, wellness education, research, and cultural studies, Shawn and Yinong help students explore authentic lineage training while making these traditions accessible and relevant to contemporary life.
Our mission is to preserve, document, and transmit complete traditional training systems for future generations while helping students apply their principles to modern life, health, personal development, and self-cultivation.
Shifu Shawn Cartwright, MBA

As a producer, writer, and storyteller, Shifu Cartwright uses written, audio, and visual media to share these arts. His creative projects include the feature-length screenplays Hidden Immortal and Talisman Sword, which draw upon traditional Chinese martial culture, mythology, and philosophy. His current work includes developing training programs, publishing educational materials, producing media projects, and documenting traditional teachings for future generations.
His son, Drake Cartwright, teaches alongside him and assists in the ongoing effort to document, preserve, and transmit these arts to the next generation.
Shifu Cartwright earned an MBA and Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science and Mathematics from Vanderbilt University and completed additional graduate-level coursework at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. He is also a published author in the field of strategy.
